Tim began his journey with the Troubadours back in 2017, when he took a small part in our production of Treasure Island. It was the only time he started out as part of the ensemble, with a small James Bond-style role towards the end of the show.
His pièce de résistance came the following year, with his stalwart portrayal of the Sheriff of Nottingham. From there, he went on to be deliciously grovelling in King Arthur, a real Dodger-type character in Beauty and the Beast, and an evil Prince in Puss in Boots.
His final performance, in the more comic role of Chester the Jester in Sleeping Beauty, demonstrated once again his remarkable versatility as a performer, as well as the wonderful rapport he had with our audiences. He had a natural stage presence and an ability to bring every character to life, whether the role called for comedy, villainy or something in between.
Tim was a much-valued member of the Troubadours, and his talent, enthusiasm and good humour will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and performed alongside him. We feel very fortunate to have shared so many shows and happy memories with him, and we know that the audiences who enjoyed his performances will remember him with great affection.
Away from the stage, Tim also played an important role in the running of the group as our Treasurer, a responsibility he carried out with great commitment.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time. We will miss you Tim.
